ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT CONTROL & MONITORING SYSTEM (ECMS)
System Overview
ECMS (Electrical Equipment Control & Monitoring System) is a system aimed at improving the reliability of power facilities through accident prevention and rapid accident recovery by linking various electrical devices in the power plant/substation with protection relays and providing monitoring/control/measurement and integration/alert/trend/report functions as well as IED diagnosis information, communication status information/system fault storage and analysis functions.
ECMS (Electrical Equipment Control & Monitoring System) software used is SIEMENS SICAM PAS and SICAM PQS.
SICAM PAS is designed as a modular, open system that complies with all popular communication standards. It also supports operators in implementing project-specific tasks in the fields of substation automation and power automation.
The human-machine interface (HMI) of SICAM SCC offers various options for implementing individual system management concepts through user-defined user interfaces and specific operator tasks.
The consistent use of Windows technology, convenient user interface and sophisticated operating logic of system components ensure that new users can become familiar with SICAM PAS in a short time.
Based on SICAM PQS, connection options of quality measuring devices and error recorders, protective devices with error record detection and device-independent archives, Siemens offers a comprehensive set of efficient tools. These tools support innovative solutions to a variety of tasks for detection and collection of PQ measurement data to determine the power quality of the network.
Since the individual system components can be combined in several different ways, this concept meets almost all requirements for a state-of-the-art, safe and conveniently designed system.
By using a fully digital IED (Intelligent Electronic Device), protection functions and failure analysis functions are strengthened to prevent accidents and quickly recover from accidents.

The example below shows how to use enable to toggle a circuit breaker from OFF to ON. As soon as a circuit breaker (information object) is selected, the relevant switching dialog opens.

After clicking the ON button, the switching device will start blinking in the set state and the following dialog box will open for activation.
- Click the Acknowledge button to activate the switching operation. The setpoint will stop blinking and the circuit breaker icon will now display the ON status.
Measurement and Integration

- SICAM Valpro is an optional system component that uses measurements and measured values from the SICAMSCC
archiving system (SIMATIC WinCC Tag Management). SICAM Valpro displays stored values graphically or
in tabular form.

o Maximum, minimum, and average values over different time intervals, such as 15-minute or hourly values.

o Sum/difference value of measured values at different time intervals
